Magnitogorsk.1 Found In Pagefile.sys By Clamxav

Hey,

I use BitDefender Antivirus 2008. However, I found Magnitogorsk.1 with the free AV-scanner clamXav for Mac OS X while scanning my BootCamp Windows partition. Before that I had BitDefender scan my system without anything found.

I googled Magnitogorsk.1 but found nothing. I wonder if it was false alert. Is there anything I can do to verify this? Is pagefile.sys a reasonable place for a Virus to be?

clamXav can't repair or delete anything since NTFS partitions are read-only under Mac OS X. And I can't use a Rescue CD since I can't boot a Linux system on my Mac.

Will Windows still boot, if I delete pagefile.sys manually from the terminal of the Windows installation DVD?

Did BD 2008 found something ?!

As to the pagefile.sys that is in use by the virtual memory if you have plenty of ram you can turn off or at least reduce the amount set aside:

click start

right click my computer

click properties

click advanced (tab)

under performance click settings

click advanced (tab) under virtual memory click change

here you can change the space available for each drive by choosing the custom button then entering the amount you want

or if ya got lotsa ram choose the no paging file either way make sure to click the “set” button when you’re done.

Thanks for your help. But I decided to delete the Windows partition. I Don't really use it any more anyway since the tools I initially set it up for became available for Mac OS X.
