Firewall Blocks Access To Irc

Hi, I'm using BitDefender Total Security 2008 build 11.0.16 and for about a month no IRC program, doesn't matter if it's mIRC or any other alternative to IRC, is not connecting. I thought it was from mIRC at the beginning, because at first it worked, but yesterday i tried stopping Firewall real time protection and mIRC connected, but i don't really have the courage to turn always off my firewall for hours. Any advice? Thanks.

IRC typically uses port 6667, unblock it.

edit; to be on the safe side unblock ports 6660-6669 as that is the range IRC will use, default is 6667
