Windows No Longer Boots After Bis 2008 Install
I own a HP Pavillion dv8000z with Windows XP. I recently installed Total Security 2008, and was asked to reboot the computer. When I rebooted, the initial HP screen appeared, with the usual "Esc to enter Setup" and "F4 for BIOS" or whatever. Then comes the windows boot screen, and it loads as usual. Then all goes black and the process starts once again. HP screen, then Windows boot screen, then black. I cannot get into windows. I'm lost. Any help?
Thanks.

Hello andyboy,
Did you have installed Windows service pack 3 on a HP pc that have an AMD processor? If so that can cause this behaviour. I had the same issue. To solve it you can try this. WARNING do this only when you have an AMD based processor. It could be that you don't see the message that is because you have enabled the option to automatically reboot instead off showing an error message.
Kind regards,
