Bit Defender Disabled

I have bit defender total security 2008 which was alright when i installed it

after some days. it s functions started getting disabled and i was not able 2 fix any issue.

then again after some time it was enabled again and started asking for all firewall rules again.

this seems to be continuing again and again what might be the problem

I'm having the same issue on just one of my computers. I've done four repair installs and after doing so, BitDefender Total Security 2008 works UNTIL I use "Update" and BitDefender downloads and installs approx. 18MB of updates. Then after rebooting Total Security is disabled and FIX doesn't work <_<

This is a problem that may occure and you may solve it using the BD uninstall tool and reinstalling BD 2008 untill it works properly (as many times as needed).Before reinstallation there must be no services leftovers or registry keys from BD.

There was also observed that BD 2008 instals better if the driver routine instalation is made in this order :mobo chipset derivers->network card drivers->video card drivers ->sound card drivers.

Before reinstalling BD 2008 you may also need to reinstall Windows Installer 3.1.

On the other hand is not excluded that the pack available for download on the site to be corrupted or corruption to occur during download.

If because of a strange error the BD 2008 services are not ON ,you can manually set them up, from the Services in the Administarative tools in Control Panel.

BitDefender Comunicator service must be Started and Automatic.

BitDefender Desktop Update service must be Started and Automatic.

BitDefender Threat Scanner service Started and Manual.

BitDefender Virus Shield service Started and Automatic.
