Problem With Epic Launcher
Hey All,
I have bitdefender antivirus plus 2016 and epic games Launcher. When I try to install something from within the launcher I am getting a "File Access Error". I have whitelisted the launcher binaries in the bitdefender exclusions but it still seems that something is being blocked. I had previously installed this along side bitdefender antivirus 2015 and had no issues.
Another user had issues with this software and had to uninstall to get this working. Hopefully whatever the underlying issue is can be fixed so that users wont have to remove their computer's protection.

Hi,
I have just bought my license on AV 2016 plus today..
Epic Launcher is about the only program i use on this workstation..
Any solutions to this yet?
@Eggmanx => what files + paths have you added to the whitelist?
Is it only for UnrealTournament Files you are getting the error?
Or everything Unreal ENGINE related?

Solution: should be one of these (i will try and confirm these solutions tonight)
1) install the launcher BEFORE you install Bitdefender
2)For anyone else who had this issue all that resolved mine was following Barnabas first link and following these instructions:
Add the following 2 lines to your BaseEngine.ini: [Networking] UseLibCurl=false The BaseEngine.ini can be found under Epic Games\Launcher\Engine\Config. Add the “-http=wininet” command. (For Windows Only) Right-click your launcher shortcut and choose properties. At the end of the target path field add “ -http=wininet” without the quotes and make sure there is a space before the dash. It should look like this:
Once I did that I was able to log in!0
