We have a small network of computers, about 15, which are set up for video editing. The software, made by Avid, really shouldn't be used with any antivirus program installed due to performance issues. The computers aren't connected to the internet, the only way to get a virus is from say a thumb drive or some kind of removable media. What we always do is, before putting anything onto any of the computers we have one computer that has antivirus software, scan the removable media, clean it if necessary, then put it into our main network.
Unfortunately a new employee skipped this step and the network now has a virus, the dlder one.
What we'd like to do is get BitDefender for all computers. Shut down all computers and one at a time turn one on, install BitDefender clean the computer, uninstall BitDefender, shut down the computer and move on to the next one and so on.
My question is, when BitDefender is uninstalled, is it completely uninstalled or are there some remnants left in the registry and other places?
The workstations I'm not too concened about, it's the drive array servers, an Avid Unity system, that really cannot have any extraneous stuff on it.
Thanks
