How To Disable Bitdefender Av
I'm into day two of trail version and want to disable BD so that I can run a scan by another AV program. Something so obvious is turning out to be so hard. Surfed 12 pages of postings, searched topics, and repeatedly reviewed interface. Do I right click icon in task bar and choose exit? Can I disable BD without uninstalling so that I can install another AV program? Is anything still running in the background?

Right Click on the icon, select the advanced Settings, push Advanced on the down/left corner. You can find a check box that let you disable BitDefender.
Warning: do not use 2 different antivirus program on the same machine!I'm into day two of trail version and want to disable BD so that I can run a scan by another AV program. The only check box that comes close is "Load BitDefender at Windows startup. I unchecked it, rebooted and opened utility to find BitDefender automatically correcting disabled features. How do I keep it turned off if I want?0 -
Hello NetCruiser,
If you want to disable realtime protection. You need to do this right click on the red BitDefender icon near the system tray press on open advanced settings. Uncheck the box that you find near realtime protection is enabled and select permanently. If you have done that you need to check realtime protection again to activate it. But I would strongly advise that you temporary uninstall BitDefender.
Kind regards,
