Coming With W10 Anniversary Edition - Periodic Scans With Windows Defender With Bitdefender Running

Beginning with Windows 10 Insider Fast and Slow Rings build 14342 it is now possible to run periodic manually generated scans with Windows Defender even with Bitdefender active. I would imagine this feature will continue and be available in released versions of Windows 10 beginning with the Anniversary Edition which should be released the end of July.

For Windows 10 Insiders interested in enabling this feature. Go to All Settings, Update and Security, Windows Defender and enable Periodic Scanning. Reboot your computer and the Windows Defender icon should show up in the notifications area. Definitions can be updated either from the Gui or via Windows 10 Updates.
