3. what is the procedure for use, ie is it used instead of the normal uninstall process or is it to be run

    Hi rube goldberg,

    1) http://bitdefender.com/uninstall

    2) Yes, you can use it whatever version of BitDefender you have (AV, AV Plus, IS)

    3) It doesn't matter if you use a normal uninstall first. The Uninstall Tool is a bit more agressive then the normal uninstall, so it will delete absolutely everything, regardless if you used a normal uninstall or not. It's your choise.

    Hi rube goldberg

If you want to double check you can also download microsoft uninstaller clean up:

    http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9...1bd/msicuu2.exe

Install it and look after any references that have BitDefender or Softwin in the name. If so select them and press on remove. But normally when you follow what Cris said everything is already removed.

Well i think you still need to manually delete the Softwin folder after running the uninstall tool...
