Can I Scan Windows Partition From Another Windows Partition On The Same Pc ?
Hi
I have 2 Windows installed on my mechine...One is XP prof. on drive C , and the other is Vista on drive D....
Can the AV on vista scan drive C correctly and deeply (as a Windows and system partition) ? I mean Drive C boot sectors , registry entries ,system volume information ....etc....? and can it be done vice versa ?!???
And If it can...healing some infections would do some problems to the other Windows partition ?
I have bitdefender on C and AVG on D....curious to know wether BD has left in drive C something behind .....
Another question
I have purchsed BD IS2008 (a memeber of 3-license users) ..Can I use it on both 2 Windows (XP and Vista) without license problems ???
Thanks in advance.... " />

Hello mahanddeem,
BitDefender is able to scan all partitions that you have created on your hard disk. If I understand you correctly you have divided your large hard disc into 2 partitions C: and . If your partition(hard disk) is visible when you click on start,my computer than BitDefender will also able to scan it.
For your license question:
You will only loose 1 installation so you can use your license key for 2 other computers/laptops. This is when you install on your computer that have both vista and xp on.
Kind regards,

Thanks alot...
But I mean I and 2 people have bought the BD IS2008.....
So regarding me , can I install this BD IS2008 on my PC twice ? i.e. on XP and Vista ? would it be considered 1 installation or 2 ? that's important because I don't want to affect the remaining 2 licenses " /> ...................
Thanks again Neils0 -
Hello mahanddeem,
For the scan question:
the XP partition will be able to be scanned while running Windows Vista, but as a normal partition. BitDefender will scan it for malware, will scan archives, will scan for hidden files (rootkits) and so on. Also, it should be able to scan the "System Volume Information" folder in the XP partition (while running Vista).
But the XP registry won't be scanned while in Vista, because the registry can only be accessed from the current OS (the OS that's running). So while running Vista, BD will scan only the Vista registry, not the XP registry.
All the above is also aplicable vice-versa (all files from Vista are scanned while in XP, but the Vista registry is not accessible).
As for the registration question: multiple OSs on the same computer (so multiple BD installations on the same system) count as "one user" (as Niels said). So from your 3-user license, if you install it on both Vista and XP on the same system, it counts as one installation.
However, since you say that the license will be also used by other persons, you should tell them that the license has to be registered online using the same account, not different accounts. If you register the same license using multiple accounts, you risk getting the license invalidated.
