Bitdefender Blocking Website

I advertise things on gumtree.com

BitDefender blocks the page so it's never accessable.

How do I prevent this from happening?

  • Hello ninj4z,

    I can reach gumtree.com.

To start witch BitDefender solution do you have? I mean BitDefender Antivirus,BitDefender Internet Security or BitDefender Total Security 2008.

Please right click on the red BitDefender icon near the system tray and press on open advanced settings. Select the privacy control section. On with protection level is privacy control set? If it's on high please press on advanced settings and press on the ****** tab see if you see an entry called www.gumtree.com with status blocked. If so select that entry and press on the delete button with look like a folder with a -. Now press on the icon that looks like a folder with a + enter www.gumtree.com and select permit.

Did you created identity rules? If so with did you created on the identity tab once you are in the privacy control section off BitDefender. If that is the case you need to make an exception for www.gumtree.com to do that press on the exceptions button. Press on add a new line will be created double click on it. Now type www.gumtree.com by exception tab select http press on ok.

Be more specific witch browser are you using. Are you using other security software?

    Kind regards,

    Niels

  • Hello there,

Thanks for the reply, I have BitDefender Total Security 2008.

I've tried to do the advanced settings, privacy contol is enabled on Default mode, I've added Gumtree.com under Identity after going to advanced settings in the Privacy Control section, I've added it to ****** aswell and setted it to Permit but still get the same message:

    BitDefender

This webpage has been blocked by BitDefender Parental Control!

This webpage has been blocked by the Web filter.

Changing the Parental Control Settings for the current user will enable you to access this page. If you are an administrator on this system, you can change the Parental Control settings from the BitDefender Parental Control module.

I've added Gumtree.com under exceptions but still get the above message.

I'm using IE7 and no other security software, my operating system is Vista Home Premium.

    Thanks.

  • Hello ninj4z,

Infact you only need to enable parental control if you want to protect your children. You need to configure the protection level for each user account on your computer or laptop. Once you have started BitDefender please press on the parental control section. Now select your account uncheck every option that you find under parental control is enabled or check the heuristic webfilter (but that will not do much) and put the slider on a.dult. All the other options are meant for children and teenagers. It's better that you prevent the parental control settings with a password.

    Kind regards,
