Upgrading from 2016 kills previous settings

Why have my 2016 settings been wiped when upgrading to 2017?

e.g. File and folder exclusions,,,

Completely wiped... " data-emoticon="" src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6031943/uploads/ipb_attachments/emoticons/default_angry.png" title="" />.

Hello,

 

With the release of the new interface the settings are not compatible with one and other.

Also the system which saves settings was not implemented in 2016.
