Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition and Combination Crypto-Ransomware Vaccine

I´m using Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition. Is it neccessary oder recommended to use additional this tool from Bitdefender: https://labs.bitdefender.com/2016/03/combination-crypto-ransomware-vaccine-released/
Or includes Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition this feature?

The Bitdefender Free product doesn't feature a ransomware protection.
Its best to use the vaccine as well.0 -

I have asked remtools@bitdefender.com, but my Mail was deleted without an answer.
Since May Bitdefender Antiransomware wasn´t updated. I don´t see an advantage to use a tool, that don´t protects against actual Ransomware.
Can you please say more, whether the tool is under active developement?

The tool is still active, it was not discarded.
It actually prevents some variants of ransomware from deploying on your machine. Basically making the machine immune to those variants.0 -
