Unable to connect to the server error

Anyone else having problems activating a new install? I installed BD 2017 Total on another Windows 10 PC and two android phones yesterday without any problems. Went to install on another home PC and ran into the "Unable to connect to the server". I also noticed that the installer didn't just automatically log me in, as it did with the previous three installs last night. I've tried the following already:


- Uninstall/reinstall numerous times, following the guide


- Pinged  nimbus.bitdefender.net, 37ms response time, per other thread for same issue in BD 2016. 


- Manually changed and updated to use Google's DNS servers, 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4


- Flushed DNS, rebooted, etc.

  • I as well, just bought it yesterday, did the same things you did, went and chatted at technical support for I guess 7 times, different suggestions on how to fix it, none worked, now they said I should send info about my desktop and they'll get back with me with an email, haven't heard from them still, but a technical staff said the maximum waiting time is 48 hours, and it's only been 16 hours, I'll wait, will get back here once they reply, and hopefully with a solution

    While having the Google DNS added to the physical adapter I would advise a fresh reinstall.


    Please use the removal tool to clean the machine from all Bitdefender files.

    Should the issue still persist afterwards try to disable the router's firewall and see if that makes a difference.

    One of your technical staff, Mircea, already suggested the uninstall tool to me and reinstall by downloading through bitdefender central and in mydevices, didn't work too


    How do I add that google DNS thing? I don't quite understand it
