Bitdefender Total Security 2017 kills my pc
Hi. I have only had bitdefender Total Security 2017 operational for 36hrs but I am already thinking of uninstalling. Following a totally bizzare installation process where I had to resort to using 2 email addresses because the one used during installation was not accepted at activation as it was (quote) "already in use" ??? and contact online help I eventually got to actually use it. Problem is the update service hijacks the whole pc for at least half an hour after boot up and bitdefender services don't load for around 15 minutes. During this process hard disk usage is 100% constantly and the computer is useless. I have turned off update in the settings permanently but when next booted it is back on set for 2 hrs ??.
I am still investigating controls etc. so can claim to be a newbie although I have used bitdefender before about 3 years ago. Are the problems I am having unique to me or are they familiar to anyone on this forum, better still is there a fix ???
