Bitdefender is intefering with sourcetree/git client

Bitdefender is interfering with sourcetree, when it needs to connect to the server and sync/download/upload the files. By default all connection should go through to the server directly, but i checked the resource monitor and found vsserv taking control of the connection and causing a huge delay in performing actions.

Since this free version lacks any control whatsoever, i always have to disable the AV when i need to use sourcetree https://www.sourcetreeapp.com/. 

The connection is interupted and vsserv is connecting to ec2-52-36-46-55.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com

Which i suspect it is doing realtime scan of the files, which doesn't happen to any other downloads i've done so far. Only via sourcetree.

BitDefender Free Edition, v1.0.21.1109 running on Windows 10, v1607 (Build 14393.693)

Unfortunately, it appears as though a recent update is causing failures of this type.  There have been some comments from paid users that this update may be related to the issue, but I'm not sure how much is shared between the editions.

Personally, I don't leverage sourcetreeapp.com, but my Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client (v4.2) suddenly stopped connecting to the remote endpoints.  When researching the issue, it didn't even occur to me to check the anti-virus. Especially as there is documentation that no firewall is provided with the BitDefender Free.  Perhaps this is something which may be part of the heuristics to determine a potential threat?  Don't know without a comment from a member of the BD team.

As you konw, there isn't a local user interface for BitDefender Free -- However, try checking for log files in your C:\Program Files\BitDefender\GzLogs\ directory.  If your version is like mine, there will be a bdfirewall.txt file.  Mine had messages related to each attempt for the VPN to connect:

Now, I don't know what this means, exactly.  Perhaps a partial firewall IS installed with BDFE?  Or, perhaps, it is something related to the A/V engine, itself?  Windows 10 still reports that my firewall is managed by the built-in application. Either way, the only solution I've found so far is to DISABLE the A/V when connecting.  That really isn't much of a workaround.

We really need someone from BitDefender to explain why this is occurring and how we can manage it. Otherwise, folks will have no choice but to move to other suitable alternatives.
