Trojan.delf

When running a SpywareDetector scan I get a positive result for Trojan.delf.

It is connected to the file c:\windows\installer\msi17.tmp.

Is this a problem to be concerned with?

  • Hello SecurityNovice,

What spyware detector do you have installed?

What action did BitDefender taken on the file?

This might be a false positiv can you please do this click on start,my computer, double click on the icon of your hard disk that is called in most cases C:,open the windows folder now go to the tools menu, folder options, click on the display(view) tab uncheck the option hide system protected files confirm the warning press now select the option show hidden files and folders and press on ok. Normally now you should find the folder installer open it and search for msi17.tmp. If present please compress msi17.tmp by following the instructions in this topic more specificly the 2nd post. Upload the archive you just created on the forum keep in mind that your archive has to be less than 2 MB. How to upload to this forum is easy when you are in the screen for creating a topic or replying scroll down you will now see an Attachments section press on browse now navigate on your computer where you stored the archive press on open and on upload.

    Kind regards,

    Niels
