Latest Update Breaks Product
Like some others I went for the update when it was offered for the Free Anti-Virus, the installer downloaded with no problems and ran ok, but at the end it could not contact the server and could not activate the product. This has left me with no working anti-virus. I tried a support route and was immediately blocked because they do not talk directly to Free edition people only log it with the developers, working in the software industry I know this means it could take weeks to resolve, no anti-virus for weeks, no thank you, or alternatively I can always upgrade to a paid version and get support.
This episode has made me think perhaps paying is better, but no way am I going to pay for BitDefender. With no responses on this forum and a complete shutout on talking to support, not even a "we know, we're working on it", I would have thought some attention would be given in an effort to convert your free customers to paying ones, it seems not and I am not going to gamble that you are better if I pay you some cash.
Like the product this will be my only post to the forum as I am uninstalling and moving on, this time I am going to part with some cash, but BitDefender won't be getting it, shame really because until then it had been so much better than the Crapafee product my work inflict on on us.
