Security Issues That I Can't Seem To Fix

Hi, I am using bitdefender for a few years now but only recently upgraded to BD IS 2008 on my notebook. (Asus a6000 series 1.6 ghz 2 gig ram. ) /edit I Am running windows XP 32 bit servicepack 2

Yesterday I opened my agent and saw that there were 9 issues with my system security. I've got to tell you that most of the things I read about in the list, like ID control, stealth, or p2p protection, sound like they would be really cool to have but the thing I am worried about, is my firewall that won't go from off to on again. When I check the box in the settings panel at firewall, it says:"Failed to initialize BitDefender Firewall drivers. Firewall disabled"

Further at the settings tab, The antivirus box is uncheckable, the antispam, the privacy control and parental control also can't be checked.

Being that at my school the virusses float around unchallenged over all the wireless networks I need to fix this problem pretty quick. Does it have something to do with the list for trusted or untrusted networks? 'cause that's empty even when I did put my 2 home networks in there.

My windows firewall is off btw.

further when I push the fix all issues button there aren't any wizards popping up like how they used to. I already tried to repair my installation that didn't work.

Wow ehm I kinda lost track there but I think everything I can tell about my situation (plus a little extra) is in there. All I really want fixed is my firewall because that's what I came to love Bitdefender for.

Any help would be greatly apreciated

  • It runs again, I solved this problem by reinstalling Bitdefender. My guess is that working with CCleaner to much was pooching my registery. This thread can be locked
