Bitdefender Removing Msword 2003 Now Locked?
I want to thank all the patient MalWare techy people on the other side for helping me rid 90% of my infested computer from Malware. I still get a few pop ups but i can totally deal and really dont have time to go through all the other additional processes that the techs on the MalWare forum posted (probably a decision I will live to regret and land me right back here). Anyway, ever since I did the big clean with the combofix etc., my MSWord 2003 is LOCKED. Whenever I begin typing it says:
This modification is not allowed because the document is locked.
I didnt lock anything. I dont even know how to lock it and this isnt a trial version. Other parts of office work, just MSWord 2003 is locked. After reviewing a few other sites, I came across 1 that seemed some what knowledgeable, stating that if you used Norton or any other type of Virus Cleaner, it is possible that during the cleaning many of your registration key files may have been removed or damaged. WTH?I attempted to follow the instructions on that website to fix or repair my MSWord, but the location of where they wanted me to go on my computer didnt even exists. Someone also suggested click on the toolbar and look in the menus and click Protected- umm mine is greyed out. All of the top is just about greyed out- it's totally locked.
Is this common with BD? Umm taking suggestions now.
Thanks again guys for all your help..anyway to resolve this issue?

Hello IceXPinkGirl,
Please take a look at the answer and do what I said in this topic of yours and reply there. The problem is you didn't upload the samples so virus researchers couldn't add signatures to remove it.It's better that in the future you check the option enable email notifications of replies you can check that option once you are in the section of creating a topic or reply.
Try this.
Are you trying to open a word document? If so please right click on the word document and see that read-only is notchecked press on ok.
Kind regards,

Also when i try to click the repair option, it acts as if its going to repair then gives me this error message:
Error 25090. Office setup encountered a problem with the Office Source Engine, system error.
-214703838. Please open C:\ProgramFiles\MicrosoftOffice\Office\OFFICE11\SETUP.CHM and
look for "Office Source Engine" for information on how to resolve this problem.
I tried going to the path and got as far as OFFICE11. The trail goes cold there, I couldnt find a SETUP.CHM or
Office Source Engine. I need my office for work. This is so irritating. It was either bitdefender of the one of the viruses.
Or a combination of the two when attempting to virus clean my POS computer..0
