Sluggish performance

A few days ago I started noticing web pages were taking a long time to load. The loader for an old online game I play is also taking an unusually long time to open. Went through the usual procedures, including another company's online scan nothing changed. This morning I tried turning off BD Free's Protection Shield and everything returned to normal.

Using Win 7 Pro, BD's latest update shows Mar 26 but the problem stated before that.

I'm seeing the same issue with slow performance and freezing of browser. It is so bad that when trying to type a google search, the letters do not appear in the search box. Also, when the pages start to load, they often freeze. When Bitdefender is disabled, the pages load and everything operates in a normal fashion.

Using Windows 10 Pro with latest update on March 26.

I too use Chrome, it seems to be even worse with IE 11.

I'm new to BitDefender and new to the forum (hi everyone).

I've been using Panda Free up until now, but I feel the same kind of thing has been happening with that and it has even slowed down Windows loading from what I can tell. So I've ditched it and been reading up on alternatives. Folks had a lot of good things to say about BitDefender; including its lightness on resourced, so this is disappointing to hear. I'll keep reading through some other threads in this forum, but in the meantime it would be good to hear from others whether they experience the same, or whether these cases are more like random one offs...
