BD blocks Firefox Sync feature
Windows 10 Home 1709 (64 bit); Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition v1.0.11.16; Firefox 59.0.2 (64 bit)
Firefox Sync function fails. Sync error log reports the following error:
MOZILLA_PKIX_ERROR_KEY_PINNING_FAILURE - "The server uses key pinning (HPKP) but no trusted certificate chain could be constructed that matches the pinset. Key pinning violations cannot be overridden."
Mozilla Bugzilla agents advise removal of antivirus, as the most likely solution.
Complete removal of Bitdefender has resolved the issue and Sync now works perfectly. (Simply deactivating Bitdefender did not work.) Note that I have successfully used Firefox Sync alongside Bitdefender Free, on other PCs. The issue originated after I have done a Windows reset (with complete file deletion) and installed the apps from scratch.
Is this a known bug/feature? Can anything be done about it? Do I have to find another antivirus?
Thank you for any help you can give.
