SSL Scan very slow

Since i upgraded to BD AV plus 2019 i found that SSL scan is slowing down page loading.

Loading the first facebook.com page takes abt 3 sec's without SSL scan enabled and 6 sec's with SSL scan enabled.

When i disable SSL scan BD states that i'm UNSAFE and prompts to enable SSL.

I upgraded BD on inly one PC now but do not want it on my other PC's before theis problem has been resolved.

Who is able to reproduce this?

Who knows how to prevent BD from automaticaly upgrade from BD 2018 to 2019.

I'm not sure if this will help you, but if you are using Firefox, try uninstalling Firefox entirely (you can create a profile in the browser that will save all of your settings, including bookmarks, before you do this, so that you won't lose anything). Reboot, and then reinstall Firefox. That solved the issue I was having, wherein secure sites wouldn't load at all.

Could you please right click on the systray icon -> About and provide us the build number?

In C:\Program Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender Security, you should find a file called mitm.dll. Right clicking on it and going to Properties -> Details will give you the file's version. Could you also tell us that version?

And one last thing. Could you please do the loading test in a private/incognito window of the browser you are using? i.e.: open an incognito window in chrome (or what your browser is) and go to facebook.com (or any https webpage); close the incognito window, open a new one and repeat the test, turning on (or off, if it was previously on) SSL scan.

By using a non-incognito instance of the browser, it is completely normal for webpages to load quicker the second time you access them (due to caching).

If you experience that issue again, instead of entirely uninstalling Firefox, you could also try refreshing it (help -> troubleshooting information -> refresh firefox). This keeps some of your data: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings

BD version is 23.0.8.17

Mitm.dll file version is 3.0.9.421

Today I reproduced the test in a normal (non private/incognito) browser window (Chrome latest version):

1. Disable SSL scan.

2. Start Chrome.

3. Goto https://facebook.com (loading time 0,94 secs).

4. Close the Chrome Browser.

5. Enable SSL scan.

6. Start Chrome.

7. Goto https://facebook.com (loading time 5,65 secs).

If caching would play a role in this test, it would work out in favor of Bitdefender.

Testing in an incognito window is not a practical test because one has to log in every time. Also the Chrome loadtimer extension will not work in this mode.
