Free Version definitely not installing - Tried 6 times already !!
WIndows 7 (Desktop). CLEAN INSTALLATION.
I have tried SIX TIMES to install the free Bitdefender Antivirus and it ALWAYS fails and ROLLS-BACK.
I use the Uninstall Tool to delete each time.
and I have Un-Blocked the installer (in the security settings, in the file properties).
Nothing seems to work!
The download reaches 100%
Then it asks me to agree to the Privacy Policy and INSTALL software,
It reaches 100% and then it fails.
Error Message: "Bitdefender is performing a rollback operation due to an installation error. Please do not restart your computer"
* Photos attached
Please someone help! I really want to have this software. It works fine on my laptop and my previous desktop. So why is there suddenly this problem now ?

Hello,
We will continue the conversation via email.0 -
I have the exact same experience plus a failing debug tool and uninstaller. I've basically tested any standard solutions and given all necessary permissions, stopped firewalls, started in safe mode etc. I had hoped to switch to a more streamlined antivirus solution from what I'm currently using.
Actually this is my second attempt after trying to install Bitdefender a year ago or so. Only remembered why I hadn't installed it while having to go through the same problems again.
Is there any official solution to this posted somewhere? It doesn't help at all when these kind of conversations are left open ended. This is a forum, not an individual support ticket. (It makes sense to solve it on a individual basis, but post the solution as well).
Truth be told, I'm pretty annoyed and if there isn't an existing solution, I won't pursue this any further for the time being. Enough time wasted and I don't trust a software which suffers from so many oversights and flaws that haven't been properly addressed in years (plenty of install/ uninstall problems documented) before it even gets out of the door.0 -

Hi Herb2,.
I completely agree.
The team got back to me by email and said they are working on a fix.
This was nearly a year ago and I heard nothing back from them.
I was fed up with the un-answered support so I decided to use a Kaspersky Free Antivirus instead. (its called FREE SECURITY CLOUD)
it has been working fine on my computer since I downloaded it (about 7 months ago).
So I would give up and save your time and go for something else.
if you do Kaspersky, then make sure you do the FREE version and not the Professional 30 day Trial, (coz after the trial runs out you get annoying pop-ups).
PS: Avoid the Kaspersky Secure Connection App which may get bundled with the download. (its a VPN, but it only gives you a handful of hours, and then it becomes a nuisance).
I notice the VPN (Secure Connection App) slows down your browsing a bit. so just dont install Secure Connection... unless you really want it.
I disabled it.
other than that, I think the kaspersky has done me very well. I'm happy with it.0
