flash remoting (amf) blocked

It seems that flash remoting is being blocked. I just recently switched over to using bitdefender, and only recently noticed that my projects have problems with remoting. If I run an app locally like during a build I don't have any problems but when viewed in the browser I notice that communication breaks down. The apps still work, but they appear to be broken on my 2 machines that I've installed bitdefender on. Also if I use servicecapture as a proxy to examine packets the projects no longer are broken in the browser. I develop projects that use flash remoting often and this is a big problem for me. Plus if I have any clients out there that are using bitdefender, they'll also have problems. It seems that bitdefender has a problem with amf. Thanks for your help on this one.

Hello.

I have no prior experience with Flash Remoting, but it seems to be a method for RPC in flash from what I understand. On the client part there should be no problems because it is integrated in the Flash Player which in turn is loaded by the browser and the whole communication goes through HTTP(S), which means that if the flash player is working and the browser is able to go to websites, there should be no problems.

I tested it with BD 10 IS and two examples (the Adobe / Macromedia examples and TheBroth) both with Firefox and IE and it worked without a problem.

On the server side I suppose that it is loaded as a module in the server so if the firewall allows access to the web server there should be no problems.

The only suggestion I can think of is to disable the firewall and try it so, then enable the firewall and disable the on-access (realtime) scanner and try it so. This way we can at least narrow it down which part of the application is influencing remoting.

Sorry it took so long to update this post. I've been trying for a while but wasn't able to login successfully for a while. I'm not exactly sure where the problem occurs, but it doesn't look like bitdefender it the culprit. It seems to be some problem with firefox. Which is new for me, in the past it was working great. It may be a plugin I have installed. I can use IETab to switch the rendering engine if FF, and remoting works fine. Thanks for looking into this issue though.
