How to scan a specific file or directory via the command line?

I've installed BitDefender AV Free version. Does it provide a command line utility which allows me to scan a specific file?

    Hello.

It seems that command line scan is available only for business products and not for home products, in your case Bitdefender Antivirus Free.

Maybe @Alexandru_BD and @Mike_BD have other answer to your question.

    Regards.

  • Thanks for the suggestion. Custom scan of specific folders seems like the best I can do with the free version. And 'daily' is the minimum granularity. Hourly would be better.

Also, how do I retrieve the results of the scan? Is there a log file I can look at?

Bear in mind I will be processing the results using a Python ******.

  • Hello @AndyF,

The log (if the task is closed) can be found in the product -> Notifications-> Information -> <Scan task name> completed successfully-> View log.

You can't scan from cmd as this option is not available. The scan task can be achieved only via right click -> scan (contextual scanning).
