Bitdefender Blocking A Website? (www.washingtontimes.com)

edited October 2008 in Malware talk

I have BD TS 2009 installed on 3 machines running Windows XP and Internet Explorer 7. I can't access

http://www.washingtontimes.com from these PCs. IE7 on all 3 of them returns a message: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.

The website comes up alright when I disable Real-Time Antivirus & Antispyware File Protection in Local Security in BD Basic Settings.

What is this: A feature or a bug? What steps would you recommend in troubleshooting the situation?

(I am not sure that I put this post into the right forum---please relocate if necessary)

Comments

  • open the bd console,

On the top, switch to advance use

from the left pan, click on the Parental Control

From the right pan, double click on the user name (loggon name)

If you are planning to change the control level to be "a.dult", simply disable parental control for this user.

If not, click on the "web" and add your favorite site, in the approved list like this

For any site from yahoo.com type like this

    *.yahoo.com/*

    and so on. Good luck.
