Have you ever reinstalled it or you just said that you did it?

Are you using an overclocked machine?

Overclocking has strange results over longer periods of time ,like file corruption, this being caused by tweaked preocessors and RAM. Another thing is that many users dont know or simply they dont care, that Microsoft included in Vista and XP two tools called Check Disk and Defragmentation. Not using these from time to time also may lead to file corruption and strange issues.

Run the BD Uninstall Tool under full privileges and with any other security software(HIPS for example) turned off.Run it even twice if needed and also double check manually if the folders were removed.

You can use an aditional registry cleaner tool, if leftovers persist.

It may be strange what i ask you now ,but what is your driver installation order?

Can you describe your full software Windows instalation ,what driver you re installing first and when in this process you install the antivirus?

This is my algoritm for XP and i rarelly had problems:

XP SP2 ->Windows Installer 3.1->Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable->WinRAR(if some drivers are still zipped in something unopenable with zip included utility)->Mobo Chipset Drivers->Network card drivers->Video card drivers->Sound card drivers->DirectX latest->Service Pack 3 for XP->BD 200x->3-d party Firewall->updates to BD,OS and the rest of the programs. After each step there is a restart(im not the first one that observed that this restarts are needed). This worked for me, try this order B)<img class=" />

With BD 2008 it seems the network card drivers need to be installed right after the mobo chipset drivers.Installing network card drivers to the end of the drivers stage always created me issues with some BD modules.

Crysty, I bought Gamesafe last week and installed from disk. It's impossible to update from down here in Singapore. Has nothing to do with any of the stuff the other guy is talking about. I got a brand new HP laptop that is otherwise working perfectly in all ways.

When I try to update I get either MD5, I/O timeout or HTTP error 404. The reason is very simple, either the update servers of BD ###### or the connection down to Singapore is ######. BD is sold by many shops here in Singapore, how can BD be pushing a product and service with such a fundamental flaw, a virus software that cannot be updated, amazing!

  • Lewiex, all you can do is to keep on trying. I just managed to update BD for the first time. The update stopped several times as usual but this time it didn't start from scratch every time, when I restarted the update it remembered which files had previously been transferred. Have no idea why it worked but I expect it to run smoother in the future since my updates will be much smaller.
