Bdss.exe Using Processor With External Hard Drive

I recently bought a 1TB external hard drive. Soon after I installed it, I noticed my computer slowing down.

The external hard drive also included software (memeo) that mirrors all of the files on your c: drive to the external drive. So when a file gets updated on the c: drive, it copies it to the external. I could understand bdss.exe using CPU during this process.

The problem that I have is bdss.exe is using 45% of the processor during periods of no file activity. Non stop.

I turn off BD antivirus, and the bdss.exe process reduces to 1-2% CPU.

I turn BD antivirus back on, unplug the external hard drive, and the bdss.exe process reduces to 1-2% CPU.

So obviously the combination of BD antivirus and the external hard drive is the cause. I see no way to exclude the external hard drive from antivirus scanning, since the files have already been scanned when they were written to the c: drive.

Any assistance from anyone would be most appreciated.
