Windows reports that I have no Antivirus or Firewall software installed, yet all my BitDefender security modules are active. How can this be? It worked fine for about 2 weeks until now.
I use BitDefender Internet Security v10. Please help.

I suggest that you try this go to start,run,at the run dialog box type services.msc press enter. Now leftclick on the Security Center service and press on stop. When the service is stopped do this go to start,run,at the run dialog box type regedit press enter. Press on the +-icon before this registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and open the follow folders and subfolders: Microsoft\Security Center
You will find at the right side these entries: AntiVirusOverride! and FirewallOverride! both entries must have as value 0 (zero). If not change it by rightclicking on it choose modify/change confirm by pressing on ok. Now restart the Security Center service again.

Both those entries have the value (0). Any other suggestions? Is this a bug in BitDefender?
No this is a windows bug that sometimes occurs. Download this tool : http://www.verzend.be/v/2014035/SecurityCenterReset.zip.html Unzip it reboot your pc into safe mode by reboot your pc and press several times on the F8 button before the windowsloadingscreen choose safe mode confirm by press on enter. Now press on SecurityCenterReset and press on start. If that fails then you have to uninstall BitDefender by using this tool: http://www.bitdefender.com/uninstall Reboot your pc afterwards. And let the tool run again. After you done that reinstall BitDefender.
