After Install "bitdefender Total Security 2012" Web Browsing Speed Slow.

After install "Bitdefender Total Security 2012" web browsing speed slow but if i download files by using download manager then i can get my full download speed. Then i uninstall Bitdefender then my web browsing speed again OK. So this is not a ISP issue its Bitdefender Issue. Most of the time Google chrome display "Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error."

So how do i fix this issue?

    Hello,

I understand you encounter this issue with Chrome ? What Operating System are you using? You mention that you have no connectivity issues when using a download manager. That means that the download issue is only with direct download links? What is your Internet connection type? Please provide me with as many info as possible.

  • I was having similar kind of problem. I tried surfing the internet through latest Mozilla and chrome. Page did not load and just said waiting for (eg. waiting for google.com.np). I was using bitdefender total security 2012 with windows 7 Ultimate.

Also,I turned off the firewall but didn't work.

After uninstalling BTS 2012 everything works fine.

    what is the problem.

I have BD Int Sec2012 and I experienced the same problem after I installed the update from Sept 9th. I tried both Firefox and Opera and pages simply would stay stuck on loading until I stopped it and refreshed the page.

I uninstalled BDIS and both browsers operated just fine. I then re-installed, but didn't update, and was able to browse relatively smooth. I then installed the update and experienced the page loading problem again.

So as things stand now I have BDIS installed in the state it comes in from the download link(no updates) w/ auto update turned off. I can browse fine, but my Internet Download Mgr. doesn't work properly because the fix is in the last update.

    Please help me out. Thanks.

    Hello,

Please locate the file osk.exe found at the location: C:\Windows\System32\osk.exe. Tell me the file version. Upload it and send me the download link via PM. Are you using an on-screen keyboard?

Also provide me with the version of the following file: bdtl.dll from the BitDefender installation folder at: C:\Program Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender 2012

Last but not least please check and install all available Windows Updates and the most important: install Service Pack 1 for the Windows 7 you are using.

Restart the PC and let me know if the issue persist.

  • I understood from your PM that you don't like the Windows Service Pack - I don't understand why tho' - however please note that one of the system requirements for BitDefender 2012 is Windows 7 with SP1 installed as mentioned in the link below:

    Minimal system requirements:

Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP SP3 (32 bit) , Vista (SP2), Microsoft Windows 7 (SP1)

    http://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/total...ity.html#System Requirements

Not having the SP1 installed may result in not using BitDefender at its max capacity. If you allow me, I would strongly recommend you to install the SP1 on your Windows 7 as it is also resolving some major security issues with the OS.

Regarding the OSK file - indeed that is why I asked you if you are using one - to get the confirmation that it's genuine. Still I've checked the file and it's clean.

If you have any further queries don't hesitate to contact us!

    Kind regards,

  • I have also experienced the same slow down of web browsing problem. I haven't installed any service packs for my windows 7 ultimate 32 bit system. I mean the sp1.. Will it be the problem of slowing down of web in firefox?

  • Hello,

Please create your own topic. It would make my life easier and you would also follow the forum rules. I'm sure it is not that hard to understand why.

Each of you have a different PC configuration, may even have BitDefender installed in different languages.

Create a new topic, explain the situation, provide all the necessary details and you'll have my answer as soon as possible.
