One Question To Bitdefender Support

  • Hello

    Modifying those could cause crashes. It is not recommended to modify those files because you don't know to which module belongs that file. Also, some of them are protected and you ca not modify the default parameters.

    If you want to test things, do it please in a virtual machine.

    Thank you.

  • Hi Cristian

    Ok..well I allready know that :) ..and yes Im going to test Bitdefender in a virutal machine

    And one other thing..instead of creating a new tread about error and such I report here in this tread instead..

    I have found some intresting vaules in some XML files

    After extracted bitdefender_is_2012_32b.exe and extracted localization.cab and looking In perfmon.xml file

    Ive found the following Values

    perfmon.xml

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>

    <perfmon>

    <enabled>1</enabled>

    <idleInterval>3</idleInterval>

    <levelpoor>3.0</levelpoor>

    <levelgood>5.0</levelgood>

    <minhddrecindex>6.0</minhddrecindex>

    <mincpurecindex>2.5</mincpurecindex>

    <minmemrecindex>5.0</minmemrecindex>

    <minCPU>15</minCPU> <<<<<<<<<<<<<Chouldnt it be 0 cpu usage as minimum state ?

    <maxCPU>25</maxCPU>

    <minCPUIdle>15</minCPUIdle>

    <maxCPUIdle>95</maxCPUIdle> <<<<<<<<<<<< Isnt cpu usage kind of high value in idle state?

    </perfmon>

    I report when i find somthing new to report

  • Hello

    Those values were created taking in consideration the new configurations from these days but also older machines(let's say 8 years old).

    Thank you.

  • Hi Christian

    I Installed Bitdefender Internet Security 2012 on a virtual Windows XP environment..it run for about 5 min..and then as usual ended

    with errors.

    I used Microsofts Process Monitor (Former Sysinternals) and managed to capture all error events from start until Bitdefender Service ended with errors

    I have a logfile..but I cant upload it..so what do I do? Where do I send it?

  • Hello

    I've looked over that log. Interesting stuff in there.

    It will be great if you could send me a support tool log. This utility will also collect the actual settings from the product.
