Endless Windows Xp Crash Loop, Cannot Uninstall Total Security

Options

I successfully installed Total Security 2012 on my Windows XP laptop. I shut it down, and on turning it on again the next day it started a crash loop that I cannot stop. It starts with the Windows splash for a few seconds, then goes to the safe mode page and says "We apologize for the inconvenience. . . " then lists all of the safe modes to restart the computer.

I tried all modes and all are unsuccessful. The same thing happens and I always return to the safe mode screen in an endless loop. I cannot get a command prompt.

I opened a ticket with support, but that didn't work out as he suggested I burn the Bitdefender Rescue CD, which he said offers the option of uninstalling the program after a scan. However, that's not true as another support staff told me. Apparently the rescue disk is for rescue from viruses, not a rescue from Bitdefender!

Later I chatted live with a support staff who said she didn't have a fix but needed to go up one level and they would contact me with a fix. That was 5 days ago. I have to say I am very disappointed with this turn of events and lack of support.

What I need is a cd I can burn that will allow the computer to boot from that cd and completely uninstall Bitdefender. Until I uninstall Bitdefender, my laptop is useless.

Thank you for any and all suggestions.

    Hi,

    The ticket was 201111091020994.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Four days ago Christian asked for my ticket number, then no reply.

I have heard nothing from Bitdefender. I paid for the product, lost my laptop due to the installation of Total Security, yet Bitdefender does not help me.

Why can't I get help from Bitdefender?

    Hi

I am sorry for the delayed reply.

We have analyzed all the data from that ticket and we came to a final conclusion: you need to manually repair Windows XP using the installation disk.

All the details about how to do that are found here:

    http://pctechnotes.com/how-to-repair-windo...atting-your-pc/

After this, please follow these steps and reinstall Bitdefender 2012:

    Thank you for your time.

I was able to get to step 7 in the list of steps to repair Windows XP. However, I do not get the opportunity to "repair" Windows because it does not recognize that Windows was installed. Rather, it gives me the option to "install" Windows. (It also gives me the option to partition the hard drive.)

I thought of going ahead and installing Windows again, but am worried that I'll lose all of my data on my laptop.

Do you have advice on what to do now?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Have you used the same installation disk or another? In order for that operation system to be recognized you need to use the same CD.

You could install Windows by skipping the HDD partitioning, but you will loose all the data from the main partition(the one with the operating system).

Another thing you could do is to save all the data from that partition to another using a Linux Live CD.

(you need to burn the disk on another machine)

After that, you simply install the operating system without any worries. All the data will on the other partition.

    Thank you. Take care.

    Hello,

I wanted to tell you the final result.

I could not re-install Windows without deleting all partitions. I tried everything, using the help of an expert. So the final result is that I lost everything on my computer after installing Bitdefender.

Now I'm starting from scratch and will be asking for a refund.

This occured to me on Windows 7 64 Bit. I tried to install BitDefender Total Security 2012 after hearing rumours that the browsing speed problem had been resolved at some point and got stuck on an endless loop of blue screen errors and windows getting stuck just after the 'windows loading...' message appears on the screen. Good luck to anyone else who tries to get this to work.

Luckily in my case I was able to uninstall BD using safe mode which immediately resolved the problem. I hate to think of situations where a full disk image hasn't been done recently.

I hope BD 2013 will have none of the many problems 2012 has had.
