I installed this morning, spent the day trying to work on my computer, and just uninstalled... I cannot do anything - click - - wait - - - and internet was horrid - my pages actually timed out and I couldn't do anything - suggestions? I had to uninstall just to get online again
I am thinking the only option is to go with a different product -

My Internet is slow
This situation may appear after you install Bitdefender. The issue could be caused by errors in the Bitdefender firewall configuration.
To troubleshoot this situation, follow these steps:
Open the Bitdefender window.
On the Firewall panel, click the switch to turn off Firewall.
Check if your Internet connection improved with the Bitdefender firewall disabled.
If you still have a slow Internet connection, the issue may not be caused by Bitdefender. You should contact your Internet Service Provider to verify if the connection is operational on their side.
If you receive confirmation from your Internet Service Provider that the connection is operational on their side and the issue still persists, contact Bitdefender as described in section “Asking for help”.
If the Internet connection improved after disabling the Bitdefender firewall, follow these steps:
Open the Bitdefender window.
On the Firewall panel, click the switch to turn on Firewall.
Click the Settings button on the upper toolbar..
In the Settings Overview window, select Firewall.
In the Firewall Settings window, select theAdvanced tab.
Go to Internet connection sharing and click the switch to turn it on.
Go to Block port scans and click the switch to turn it off.
Click to return to the main window.
On the Firewall panel, click Manage adapters.
Go to Network Type and select Home/Office.
Go to Stealth Mode and set it to Remote. Set the Generic to Yes.
Close Bitdefender, reboot the system and check the Internet connection speed.0 -

I've had no problems with internet speed.
Have you tried disabling the toolbar and search advisor in the privacy controls? It's another thing to eliminate from the problem.0 -

Hello
Each situation for slowdowns is different. In some cases is caused by other security solutions or "internet accelerators" / download managers that are not correctly integrated in the browser / system
Our products scan all the traffic and if one of these programs is trying to intercept the traffic first, it will be blocked because the traffic has to pass via the firewall and the antivirus and then to be redirected to it.
That's why we need logs before providing a final answer.
Have a great weekend!0 -
I also have slow down in opening web pages in my Mozilla Firefox 17.0.1
I have Bitdefender Total Security 2013 and when remove "Scan HTTP traffic" opening is fine, but then I got warning that Antimalware filter is disabled
This is really frustrating " />0 -

Hi zaurer
Sometimes it take Christian a bit of time, as he does many things behind the scenes too. I've read a couple of those log files myself, they can be pretty intense and in depth, so please hang in there
Kind regards,

I also had major problems with Bitdefender Free. It would slow down my computer and my Internet connection, almost to a standstill. I download their uninstall utility and left the drop down list to all Bitdefender products. It ran 3 or 4 times and I rebooted. I also downloaded the uninstall utilities for all of the other antivirus programs that I have previously install and ran those uninstall utilities. After I finished, I rebooted and did a new install of Bitdefender Free and have had no problems since. I hope this helps all the frustrated people out here.

Hello
A product update was released and it will be installed on your machine in maximum 24 hours. Your build should be 16.26.0.1739 (please right click on Bitdefender icon from system tray-near the clock-and choose "About". You should see in the left side the build number).
In order for the product update to be installed, you need to reboot your machine(you should see in the Events -> "Reboot required" under the Update module).
Let me know if everything is OK now.
Should you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Have a great day!0
