Thanks Christian, but as you may see from the posts, it seems to be a general problem of new update: everybody seems to experience the same problem with different machines.

Hello
Actually is not general, we are currently analyzing the logs received.
I have attached a screenshot from my test machine with the latest build installed and the current situation is not reproducing.
I will provide you an answer soon. For those that still encounter this issue, please send me the logs via PM. You have all the details in my last post.

Hello
I have a workaround for the current situation.
Download this file on your Desktop.
http://www.mediafire.com/?267d7qs98635ck7
DO NOT RUN IT!
Reboot in Safe Mode.[How to restart in SAFE MODE]
- Restart the computer;
- Press the "F8" key several times before Microsoft Windows begins to load; you need to press "F8" until you will be displayed a text menu;
- Select "SAFE MODE"
Double click on the saved file and import it in the registry. Please click Yes/Allow when prompted.
Reboot in Normal Mode and let me know if the situation is resolved.
Have a great weekend!0 -
IT WORKS!
Thanks a lot, you're great.
PS In my case the file is saved as ResetPanesl.Reg.txt so I had to change extension.0 -
Worked for me too!!
Christian comes through again0 -

Hello
Did you tried to reboot the PC?
Thank you!
Hi I have the same problem exactly, and downloaded and installed the .reg file in safe mode , and rebooted many times , but I still have that problem .
But when I ran .reg file in safe mode and restarted into the normal for a moment like 5 sec. the modules were back but they went again after (about) 5 sec.
Help Please, Bit defender total security 2013 3pc, all of them have this problem.
thank U!0 -
Hello
In the current case, I don't think your have permissions on some registry keys.
Reboot again in Safe Mode and type regedit in the Search box from Start. When you see Windows Registry editor in the search list or regedit.exe, right click on it and choose Run as Administrator.
In Registry editor, locate the following key:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bitdefender\Bitdefender Total Security 2013
Right click on it and set permissions for the current user that you have in Windows like in this example:
http://www.mydigitallife.info/grant-read-w...ror-in-regedit/
After this, delete the key. Be careful and delete the right registry key.
Reboot in Normal Mode and everything should be OK.

Safest solution:
reinstall Bitdefender , and will fix the problem.
Today, I had the same problem!
I advice that I wrote, I was told by a technical support engineer
To me it worked!
Good luck!Windows 11 Pro - 11th Gen Intel Core i9-11900KF @3,50 GHz, 128.0 GB RAM

Not to break up your thread, but I've found that to work good for me too, and after using uninstall tool running CCleaner in cleaner mode, and reg. mode to find the 1-3 reg. keys that are left.0 -
Who can explain what happened?
why this?
an update wrong?
I use Total Security 2013Windows 11 Pro - 11th Gen Intel Core i9-11900KF @3,50 GHz, 128.0 GB RAM

For BitDefender 2012, had run CCleaner program. Could find many, many orphan files.
It seems that the uninstall utility for the 2013 version worked better. To me, CCleaner did not find orphan files
I explain the steps used again:
1. uninstall from control panel
2 restart
3. run the uninstall utility 2013
4. restart (even if not required)
5. I run CCleaner but found nothing
6. restart
7. installation bitdefender
8. manual updateWindows 11 Pro - 11th Gen Intel Core i9-11900KF @3,50 GHz, 128.0 GB RAM

Agreed, as the 2013 un-installer seems to work better in that regard, that's why I mentioned 1-3, as last uninstall, it only found 1.

Are you using the full offline download version (the .exe file)? http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=35494
Right click and run as Admin?0 -
I used the kit online, not the full version!

I think that would require that a representative of BitDefender team, give us explanations.
It is not an isolated case.
Our PCs are not vinoavate of this bug.
Many users have had this trouble today.
A friend of mine has the same configuration, PC was closed today. Tonight I talked to him and checked together, and to him everything is OK.
I guess it was a wrong update released.
Someone contradicts me?Windows 11 Pro - 11th Gen Intel Core i9-11900KF @3,50 GHz, 128.0 GB RAM

Like Gini mentioned, this may be a issue that Christian may need to follow up on, unless someone here finds a solution?

So if there anything else you guess it could be effective on this problem , tell me please.
I still have the same problem on my 3 PCs.0 -

You can maybe wait to see if anyone else figured this out, or wait for Christian, (could be Sunday or Monday) or try phone support. http://www.bitdefender.com/support/consumer-phone.html
edit: Did you in your previous attempts use the "stub" installer as Gini mentioned above?0 -
A good idea, I think it would be to install the UK version of BitDefender.
For it, not still update launched .1406
Technical team Bitfededer know from reliable sources, working on this problem!

If any one wants to uninstall Bitdefender thoroughly, check this post How To Completely Uninstall Bitdefender, Detailed Procedure.

Just like others the reg fix worked until reboot. I have now tried:
- Clean uninstall and full reinstall from downloaded kit
- Reg hack to check for and correct permissions
- Safe Mode procedure
In all cases the same thing happens; the problem returns on reboot.
Hope the tech team comes up with a permanent fix soon!!0 -
Yes, that is what it seems to be coming down too, maybe the need for Christian to read some log files. We'll see what he says.
edit: spell check0 -
Yes , We're waiting for the Support Dept. to solve this annoying problem.

Sorry guys this all I did. (Detailed Explanation)
I went to safe mode and into registry and delete the key (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bitdefender\Bitdefender Total Security 2013)
Restarted my PC saw that it was fixed I hitted a random blue screen error.
Once I hit bluescreen I restarted it again and the Bitdefender was back to that error.
I then went into control panel and click uninstall on Bitdefender once you click uninstall their is going to be a window that pop up saying reinstall. I clicked reinstall then restarted my pc and updated my Bitdefender and now it works.0 -
You got me thinking NastyNate, without re-reading this thread, did anyone try to run a repair when uninstalling, or since it didn't install correctly the first time, would that have helped?
