[resolved] Thunderbird - The Folder Spam Is Full ...
Comments
-
I'm using Thunderbird 13 and getting the same thing.
I don't know why no one has responded to your question but looking at the tool bar post it looks like a lot of people have the same problem.
The last post says be patient but that was a week ago and I'm not sure it's the same thing.
I sure am getting annoyed with a lot of little things about this product but that is because the reviews I saw rated it so high.
Maybe they should have used it awhile longer.
Is there a fix coming soon ?0 -
Hello
Could you please delete that subfolder spam from Deleted list, close the email client and open it again?
Let me know if this solves the issue.
Take care.0 -

I can't find a folder in the deleted list, where is that hidden ?0 -
Hello
Look in Trash or Junk, it should be there.
Thank you.0 -
It looks like it creates a Spam Folder as a sub folder of Local Folders, if I open it, it opens and nothing is in it. I deleted it and then restarted. The spam that was in my in box I then highlighted and clicked on the tool bar that it is Spam and it says the folder is Full whist creating yet another empty Spam folder that it says is full.

Is this ever going to be fixed ?
It is getting really annoying and waiting days for a response kind of stinks to.
Does Bitdefender just not like anything Mozilla related ?0 -
Have you tried the message filter of tbird? In the filter set all messages with the subject containing "[spam]" to go to the junk mail folder, which is the default Tbird junk folder.

Thanks, I don't have any problem if I disable the toolbar that Bitdefender installed and let Thunderbird handle the spam. It just seems to me that if Bitdefender wants to install this stuff, it should work.
If it doesn't work they should fix it !
I made the Mozilla crack because I had to install Firefox betas to get certain webpages to load, like newegg.com for pete's sake. Google chrome or IE would work but not Firefox.
Soooo .... at least once a day I check and see if it works or check the forum for a answer or a time table for a fix.
Maybe I'm supposed to install a Thunderbird beta. " />0 -

I hear what you saying... This thunderbird issue has been an on going issue for months now. I deleted Thunderbird and moved on to Windows Live mail a week ago*cringe*.
I've found, that the adaptive filtering tools of both Thunderbird and Windows Live actually work better than Bitdefender's. Bitdefender would maybe detect 1 out of 5 spam emails running independently from the programs filter, whilst the email filter would detect most. I really dont know *why* I did buy a licence. Im running a free anti virus prog on my other laptop, together with a free 3rd party firewall and I get the same level of protection (if not better, I really love that firewall program, the bitdefender one lacks customisability, compared to the freeware)0 -
Thanks for the help on here.
Unfortunately, removing the [spam] folder in the [deleted list] makes no difference, it just comes back again.
there are more [deleted] folders, shown in the attachment below, that cannot be deleted at all. I'm not sure if they are BDrelated or not.
Regards,
Lee

Hi Lee
Those email services are public(like GMail, AOL, etc) or you have your own server or the one from work?
I need this to see if we can reproduce the issue on our end.

I don't know about the others but mine is personal, provided by my ISP.0 -
Hi
I think I have a solution for your case.
As the new Bitdefender 2013 product suite was released, we would like to inform you that you benefit from a FREE upgrade to the latest version.
Apart from the fact that the 2013 suite brings lots of new features and improvements, it will most likely solve any issues that you may have encountered with your previous Bitdefender product.
Please check out this announcement:

Think I solved this problem. It seems attribute/rights related.
I solved it by deleting the Spam directory which Bitdefender created. Then I created my own Spam folder in the Archive and moved this one to the deleted folder. When you mark a message 'Is Spam' it will now be moved to the Spam folder :-)0 -
Hello
