  • German Version of Bitdefender TS 2013 the same. Only the spinning wheel. Last update from yesterday.


    First i thought, only in the german section we get no answers. But i see, that here is the same.

  • Same here 'Update' has been running most of the day, has stopped occassionly but then requires a reboot for the update to take effect. A little while later the update wheel starts spinning again, and more reboots needed. Hope they fix this or let us know what is going on.

  • The same crap here. Using the German Version 2013 Internet Security. I am already sick of that update issue (cannot see that blue spinning anymore) and have another problem as well. A couple of days ago the sandbox was working properly but now; the window of sandbox is still opening in IE or Firefox; but I get an error "server not found" instead of the page I was looking for (it doesn't matter which URL or IP was choosen).

  • Same situation for me (version 1406) on two different computers. Since morning never ending "update downloading". Hope the support team will fix it soon.

  • i get the never ending update i have turned it off also now i can no longer activate the anti spam module plus my network adapter were changed from home/office to public by them self bitdefender gone loopy.

    Apparently I'm NOT rthe only one for this issue...been in THIS UPDATE LOOP for over 24hrs?


    TWO seperate Thinkpad One with 2013 n another with 2012 (both TOTAL SECURITY) update seems to be going n going n going?


    Not sure if related BUT after REPAIR MODULE was run to fix issue the white icon on the system tray is missing?


    Hope it's been looked in to n get a resolution promptly...BTW never had this n been using BDTS for many years?

    I've not had any luck getting updates after updating to the 2013 ver. I going to re-install to see if this will fix the problem. Will let everyone know how it turns out.

    Like I said I have TWO laptops (HP & Thinkpad) with TWO seperate versions 2012 n 2013 ...I have uninstalled n used option to REPAIR that was more than 30 hrs? No Resolution just yet?


    Hope it will be fixed soon...I suspect it's the servers issue and schooling opens when many will buy - install - n update their machines n win8 stuff n all that?

    This is rediculous! I just bought a copy 2013 now i have to wait for all this to clear up? Glad i come here first. If don't fix by tomorrow, i will return and refund. Now i have to think twice about installing this software.

    Actually this is the 1st time we experience such an issue n sure it is unusual - I'm hoping it's one time episode to endure - again cuz there are TWO seperate versions (2012-2013) and many may be switching from 2012 cuz that GRADE is FREE n BD is encouraging folks to do so - the product being GOOD for TWOO years is a factor as well cuz every one may WANT to UPGRADE...additionally it's a back to school season so it's getting rough in the game ...


    BUT it sud be FIXED regardless of the matrix in the issue?


    I have both versions 2012 n 2013 the UPDATES appy the same to BOTH it's just the interface that is diffrent from each other?


    We all are hoping for a prompt resolution asap...

    Still update "Never Ending Download" fail. (01-09-2012 22:05 Hours GMT Amsterdam) Please Bitdefender fix this problem. Fail is running more than 24 hours. Got Dutch version of bitdefender internet security 2013 Latest version 16.18.0.1406

  • I spoke to Tech Support and they said they have only 1 server and are applying maintenance to it. They said it could be Monday before it is done and it was planned. This sounds very far fetched to me as who would only have one server and do maintenance on it that takes it down for 4 days. I don't believe it was planned but they have a problem and this is what they are telling customers. if it was planned why not email customers to elt them know, put something on their site or post on these forums.


    Al in all this is terrible customer are that they should put right.

    Thanks a bunch for the feedback and your rationale perspective...it's uncharacteristic for a company of this deversity-global appear-to go out and have ONE SINGLE SERVER to take care of such issues...let's HOPE the so called maintenance will fix as planned..but it's pretty inconsistance to serbve customers in this kind of business when updates are critical to operate the product folks so trustfully depend on ?


    Hope thins get better in a hurry before loosing customer base with such disregards as even not to notify customers for impending maintenance schedule of an extended time never mind fixing promptly?

    the one server excuse is just to cover his arse probably think we don't know anything and to get you of the line why they fix the real problem..

  • I don't buy the 1 server excuse nor that it was a planned maintenance. At least they are attempting to fix the issue.


    I suspect either something has gone wrong or someone has attempted to hack the server. Everyone seems to be an target these days in an online world; especially if they are providing a top notch security product.


    If your going to hack a tough system why not attempt to hack or DOS attack the leading virus security product for PCs...


    I suspect they detected an attack and took the server down before any real damage was done.

    First of all, I will like to apologies for the encountered issue.


    Our main server is down right now for hardware upgrade and reconfiguration and it will be up and running real soon, my colleagues are working as we speak to restore it.


    This operation was scheduled for this weekend.


    You encounter the never ending update process because right now the mirrors and all the secondary servers are used to deliver updates to customers.


    No worries, everything will get back to normal in a few hours.

  • Seems as if it's finally fixed.


    Sure would have been nice if they had told us about this problem. If the down time had been planned, as they claim, they should have warned their customers about it with all sorts of bulletins well ahead of time; if it was not planned, they should have had bulletins all over the place to let people know that something was amiss. Instead, it took several days for a support person to finally tell us that they were working on it.


    I wasted darn near a whole day trying to figure out what was going on. Unfortunately, I didn't find this discussion until late in the process because I had encountered it in the 2012 version and that forum didn't have an entry about it until I put one there. I wonder how many other people wasted several hours of their personal time tracking down Bitdefender's problem.


    This is not user-friendly support. I am not a happy customer.

    For me, everything is fine now :)


    About 15 minutes before, i received about 6 mb updates in less than 12 sec.


    That is the expected and normal download speed for me.

    UPDATED just NOW appears to be out of theENDLESS loop like yesterday BUT still took unusally longer to download the update on ONE laptop n still going on on the other Thinkpad...BUT appears working so I have to say we are kind of back to normal - understandably there must be overload cuz of everyone trying to update their machines ?

  • well my computer again is hanging up my tray loads after a week... i never get past a couple of weeks before the program gums up my computer. its endless nonsense... i can do screen shots and send data till I am blue in the face.. i am not a software tester. But that is going to be my occupation if I cannot ever get work done on my computer..


    right now I got lucky... half my try did not load again.... and i have to lock and unlock my tool bar to get BD to appear in the tray.


    it is a problem that bd has with xp that has never been solved...


    what I think BD does not understand is that there is older software that businesses us as for product production that does not make it possible to go forward to window 7

    Maybe sometime you could fill us in on why there were seemingly so many large updates, or were some of them maybe just phantom server update issues?

  • Yes, mine is showing constantly as updating again. Bitdefender should have something on their site and be regularly updating on here too. There's no way this was planned server maintenance. They have had an issue but not telling us what it is. It is awful customer care.

    All of my versions finished updating today, it took awhile, and sometimes they would pause and hang up, but now, they are all current.


    The file sizes I had today (I had shut off Auto Update yesterday) for the 2012 Security Suite were:

    Giving it a build # of, 150.0.40.1724

    For the 2013 Security Suite the file sizes were: (will not include the AV+ files, but that too, is up to date)

    Worked OK or close to OK in the morning BUT rt now slow DL after chk > dl ? just tried one machine most likely other is having same issue as well?


    Disappointed to say the least...


    It's the CRITICAL component of the product no matter 2012 -2013 or what ever version one has..to stay UPDATED n now we have this going for a while?


    FYI just finished the dl with abt 3500KB file size..? took a long while..?
