Tired Of The Bd Runaround

ok I had to make this lame account because the find a pass word would not work with my email address even though BD emails me all the time..


now.. I am running windows XP and on my laptop your program hangs my computer tray on boot... I remove your program my computer works fine...


I get a lame excuse from tech support that trend is on my computer.. it is not.. but in an obscure folder trend is there because i use it on another computer at work but I down loaded it here...


now I have uninstalled your program so many times I cannot count.. followed the instructions from tech.. and here i am again.


your program takes up more time then I am getting to work.. if I remove your program my laptop boot_s up fine.


OK now I have up graded to 2013... it worked fine for a week... now I am back to the same problem... and also it does not update .... i get a 2000 and a 2007 error.. and sometimes when I try to submit info I get my key is invalid.. but the program sure knows when I expire and have to buy a new key....


and now tech wants me to start taking screen shots of this and that and errors... and wtf guys. how many times am I going to jump through the hoops to be left hanging...


you collect the data off my computer.. i tell you what is wrong and now... they also ask me for an IP address??? so does that mean I can only update from one IP address? or is that going to be the next lame excuse that I will get from TECH support?


this has been going on since last november.

    Exactly, don't worth the time. Only if you have all the time in the world to get the runaround from BD. I don't recommend this software to anybody out there. They always say "it will resolved the next product update" but it never did and all the promise reply within 24hrs but good luck hearing from them.

    I have had more trouble with this software on this computer since November.... I have it on another computer with Vista... i will not update that one and I have it on another computer with xp and so far not this many issues.


    but for the life of me I cannot get it to play nice on this computer and this is the important one.


    Tech support makes me jump through the hoops... i give them the info.. i got one or two weeks of working after spending a whole weekend at a time... and then the same problem... now its compounded with the 2012 key and the update not working.


    right now its doing the endless update cycle where it just hangs and cycles... i can leave it this way for hours and nothing....

    this is what is getting me so frustrated with this program... I spend way too much time on figuring out why its not working.

    nothing is working with this BF joke of an AV, i have posted 2 issues, very bad and unexceptable, here on this forum and didn't get any answer, so much about the Seriousness of the BF Stuff!!!! i don't want to talk about support over e-mail, that is just fictional as you have experienced it by your self.


    I swear if i would live in the USA and not in Bosnia, i would want my money back, even if i had to sue them. Because i paid for something that Bitdefender made a commitment to provide the customer for that money, and they OBVIOUSLY CAN'T AND WON'T!!! which is definitely a scam/fraud/swindle etc.

    This thing really crashes your computer and everything! There is no way they can get this kind of rating. It's a piece of junk. I'm first time user and literally i cut my cd in half and throw and throw in the garbage within the first week of use. What a waste of money. Nothing but problems with this software. I got a support ticket, they email back and said it will reply within 24-48hrs, waited for the whole week nothing. All they good at is "it will resolved the next product update" what a lie. I don't ever trust this company ever again (as long as i live) no matter what they say. Look how many people are complaing and things never fix or resolved the next product update as promise. There are so many AV software out there and better why bother with this headache BD.

    By the way, don't worry about the different message of Controlpanel an widget: it happens rarely on some computers (my experience), mostly on 64 bits ones, but they are fixing it (or is already fixed). It's just a communication problem between CP and widget (CP is jealosus of the widget because they hide him most of th time <img class=" /> ).


    And don't forget that the answer to life the universe and everything is 42! :rolleyes:

    BD 2013 has not caused the issues of slow Internet connection or crashing computer for me.


    I am running Windows 7, though.


    Other than the recent issue of missing modules, which is repaired, BD2013 is very good.

    Same here, as I was going to post a thread that the "issue de jour" last year of slow internet and web page loading, has not been an issue and is resolved in my opinion.


    Christian, and the forum rules do not allow comparisons of other Avs, this is strictly a Bitdefender help forum, but concerning the slow internet that was an issue, even if it was just a tad slower than being without a AV scanning web pages, go to AV-Comparatives web site, and check out their Anti-Phishing test results for 2012, and Bitdefender blocked an astounding 97.4% of phishing web sites. Yes, I'll put up with a glitch here or there for an AV company that is reaching and stretching to be the best for our security, and their employees and companies profitable bottom line.

    I will when I finally get to boot my freaking computer again.. BD is locking it up on boot and I cannot get the safe mode restore to work now and am trying to restore past the last windows updates... if I have to take this rude impossible software off this computer one more time its gone... I am not spending this much time anymore... it is not worth the trouble.


    It worked for 2 weeks.


    as far as your repair tickets.. how many times must I do screen shots to show the error ... half the time I cannot get a boot out of the computer because your software hangs it up.. how do I know its your software... if I get to remove it all returns to normal....


    now I have it on two other computers... and I will not ever upgrade it because they are working. ON my laptop it won't work for love nor money... and the only reason i switched was I need control over a network with over 200 other computers that sign in and out at work and my last virus software i used started giving less control over blocking other computers on the network.


    but this has been a nightmare for me since november..


    repair tickets are a joke... they amount to you have another virus software on the computer... which I don't .. i have picked over the registry with a fine tooth comb and used CC cleaner.....


    so the next thing i get from techies... .. download the uninstall tool ... uninstall the program.. re install the program.... and a week later I am back having the same problem... if that long.


    the circle is unbroken... but the software just breaks after about a week or two.. you go to boot and the tray and explorer hangs...


    doing a reinstall of windows again.. is not an option.. i am not going to reload all the programs I need because of anti virus software mayhem.

    Can I offer a suggestion here? Why not boot into Windows off the distribution CD and do a repair of the WIndows Installation. It sounds like there may be other issues with your system and by doing a Repair of the Windows O/S you can most likely get past these issues.

    After that, you should be able to boot into Safe mode and uninstall BitDefender. The repair process may even bypass BitDefender in terms of startup.

    Okay, have you done a rescue boot and scan? You may have something else affecting your system. There's links on how to download the ISO image, it takes awhile but it does an offline scan and it may find a virus or malware that's at the lower level of the O/S.


    I'd also suggest switching to Manual Update which will flag a problem after a couple of days but still works.

    Hello :)


    A product update was released. Your build should be 16.20.0.1483(please right click on Bitdefender icon from system tray-near the clock-and choose "About". You should see in the left side the build number).


    In order for the product update to be installed, you need to reboot your machine(you should see in the Events -> "Reboot required" under the Update module).
