[resolved] How Can I Turn Off Bdparentalservice.exe

Hi there,

I am now experiencing Bitdefender INTERNET SECURITY 2013, which is working really well for me.

However, there is one annoying bdparentalservice.exe existing on my computer, which is described as the Bitdefender Parental Service .

Since I don't use parent control at all, I am wondering if there is a way to turn it off. Thanks a lot!

By the way, turing it off wouldn't impact the product's overall protection, would it?

    Hi ally, and welcome :)

If you had not configured your Parental Control, it should be disabled. You can check to see by logging into your (My) Bitdefender account, top of Bitdefender console, drop down tab, and log in to verify is is off (image below shows what that looks like):

I did have it enabled before I answered your thread, then disabled it, restarted my PC, and those services are no longer running:

If you didn't have a profile to start with, and still have these services running, you may need to create an account to delete it, to "re-fresh" Bitdefender. To create one, go to My Bitdefender/Parental Control and follow the (1st image above) right arrow set up screens (I used my computer name) hit next on the PC/Android screen (you already have Parental Controls with the Suite), fill in the next ones etc. until you set up the account. Restart your PC, then go back to My Bitdefender, and disable that account by clicking on the settings drop down arrow under the profile picture (upper left), click to remove the profile, restart your PC and those services should be stopped.

    Hope I didn't overwhelm you <img class=" />

We were previously having to manually disable them, which Christian did not think was a good idea: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=148072 but that has now been accomplished through the update: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=152958
