Bitdefender And Mbam

Hello,

I use Bitdefender Total Security 2013 AND Malware Bytes Anti Malware. Can I delete MBAM and only use Bitdefender on my pc?

Thanks,

Mark

    Hi Mark :)

If you're using the free on-demand version, maybe you want to keep that installed just for a second opinion scan once in awhile?

Just be sure to temporarily disable Bitdefender On Access scanning during the scan, so you don't have it scanning all the files Malwarebytes is scanning.

I agree, as it's always wise to have a 2nd "opinion" just in case Bitdefender misses a nasty or two!

I have BD TS as well as Super AntiSpyware which work well together and scanning with Super AntiSpyware doesn't take as long,

although I do run a full system scan with BD! B)

While Malwarebytes was once highly rated, it seems to have fallen down over the past while, issuing way too many False/Positive, which

is why I made the switch to Super AntiSpyware!

  • Agree with your assessment of MB (and of SAS), Midnight, as it (MB) is also better at removal than detection, let alone the False Positives you mention.

  • Hi,

I have a pro license of MBAM, beter to delete the program or stop realtime protection? I don't know it.

  • Hello :)

The Pro version of that software is incompatible with Bitdefender because both programs will have the shield turned on.

You can keep the Free version if you want.

    Take care.
