Windows/start Menu Icons Lags/delayed Response
Bitdefender Internet Security 2013 & Windows 7 x64 Ultimate Edition (& pretty fast PC-slowest part of it is sata hdd 6gb/s) - - - Lags/slows started after last program update to v16.24.0.1682, after boot, black screen before logging screen started to appear & after normal windows startup/logon, icons in the start menu ---- all programs did not shown properly (firstly showed as unidentified) and after some lag cca 20-40(depends) sec it starts slowly appear one at the time, same happens with start menu --- administrative tools icons, and moreover I noticed full windows slow down during startup... and some lags during saving/closing office documents & copying files (it lags at 100% copy completition for about 5-10 sec). After uninstalling BD and/or installing an older version (with option-do not download new files) everything works fine and fast...until that cursed update is installed... Please look into this, it is defenitly something with the last update compatibility (My amateur opinion is: caused by process vsserv.exe it uses I/O and HDD a lot)
I have antivirus settings as follows (USER MODE+AUTOSCAN-TURNED OFF):
ON-ACCESS scanning is set on custom---all file types+network shares, archives limited to 2Mb, full traffic scan, scan boot sector, scan for keyloggers, and scan ONLY new and changed files, actions-move to quarantine... and ACTIVE VIRUS CONTROL is set on aggressive.
P.S.: Tried to install Total security trial --- still the same, after last large cca 50 Mb program update lags started. Please help it is annoying.
P.P.S: 99% not a virus, I ran a full system scan with CORANTI 2012 trial & came out clean. Registry without errors & HDD not even close to full.

Try these settings:
On-Access scanning - Normal
And
Active Virus Control - Normal
Any better?0 -
Or exclude system drive in Antivirus settings (usually C:\) while Bitdefender gets fixed and we wait for the update, this way Windows loads and works normally.

Same problems here, Windows 7 64 bit starts with big delays. Afterburner, Speedfan and so starts time after time but their icons arent visible at taskbar.
The problem begins today afternoon after an update with restart. If I repair my Bitdefender IS 2013 installation, the first start runs well until new updates are downloaded!
Please help us, it is urgent! Thanks in advance!0 -
Hello
A product update was released and it will be installed on your machine in maximum 24 hours. Your build should be 16.25.0.1710 (please right click on Bitdefender icon from system tray-near the clock-and choose "About". You should see in the left side the build number).
In order for the product update to be installed, you need to reboot your machine(you should see in the Events -> "Reboot required" under the Update module).
Let me know if everything is OK now.
