I had this several times, because I reinstalled this program many times. Restarting the program ot rebooting always helped for me

    Hello ricy,

Windows Vista is known for it's way of protecting the user. The new system it has, called User Account Control (UAC) is a system that prevents applications to change system settings, even if the user has Admin privileges.

In other words, Windows Vista (UAC) might have prevented BitDefender from correctly installing itself (mainly the firewall drivers, which need to be installed for all network adapters). This would not be the first time when UAC prevents BitDefender from installing/running correctly.

    So, try this:

    - disable UAC

    - uninstall BitDefender (using BD Uninstall Tool)

    - restart your PC

    - re-install BitDefender

Please post if this solves your problem.

    Cris.

    Dear ricy

If that still doesn't work please do this press the windows button together with r type devmgmt.msc press enter go to the display (view) menu click on show hidden devices expand now non plug and play compatible drivers double click on bdftdif it should be enabled. Go to the driver tab and it should be started (running) and type must be set on system.

    Best regards
