Media Servers And Port Scans
I have Plex Media Server installed on my computer, and I access it through my PS3. Problem is, when I try to play a video, BitDefender detects it as a port scan and blocks it. The simplest solution would just be to disable blocking port scans, but I'd rather create some kind of exception for my PS3's IP address, but I'm not sure how to do that. Anyone have any tips?

Several people have had this same problem myself as well. There is still no solution that anyone has suggested that has worked, the only thing I can do is shutdown my firewall when streaming movies (not the ideal solution) but it's the only thing that works flawlessly.0 -
Hello
A product update was released. Your build should be 16.24.0.1682(please right click on Bitdefender icon from system tray-near the clock-and choose "About". You should see in the left side the build number).
In order for the product update to be installed, you need to reboot your machine(you should see in the Events -> "Reboot required" under the Update module).

I dont know about the original authors of this post but i am still having this issue. When i look at internet activity log BD is blocking for stealth and udp traffic. This is the only forum i found about plex. Is there any other ideas about this. I have latest version.

i´m having the same problems as i´m running PS3 Media Server (DLNA Server) and try to access it with my PS3.
Bitdefender detects a port scan and blocks it.
i´ve also added the static IP of my PS3 to the "trusted zone", but it looks like this window is only cosmetical.....
the only way to get rid of this, is to disable blocking of port scans for now.
Bitdefender version is 16.26.0.1739 and i think i´m having the problem since i switched to BD 2012, that was more than a year ago....
i would be very glad to become a ticket number on this, coz it´s frustrating to see the years go by and nothing realy happening, just cosmetics...0 -
If Bitdefender have the feature to create Firewall Rule for Ports only regardless of the application, then the issue may temporarily resolved unless the bug in the port scanning technique(s) are rectified, but unfortunately Bitdefender lacks in such feature. So you have to wait for rectification for this Flase +ve Port Scan attempt.

Hello all,
Before going any further with an investigation, please let me know if the issue with Plex Media Server persists with the new build number 16.27.0.1763 (please right click on Bitdefender icon from system tray-near the clock-and choose "About". You should see in the left side the build number).

I'm having this problem with the latest Plex Media Server, and Plex Google TV (GTV) Client, and the latest BDIS2013 and confirmed the build number is the same as the previous post. Even disabling port scans doesn't fix it; after about a minute or so of trying to watch a streaming movie on the GTV c client, the movie freezes. It doesn't matter where in the movie I try to start from, and the only way out of the freeze is to back all the way out of the movie. Any solution? This seems to be a major issue if BD blocks streaming on home media servers, since streaming is the new rage. My only option if this isn't rectified soon is total removal of BD and to try a competing suite, which I'd prefer not to do.

Hello,
To further investigate this case, please post here a support tool log. The support tool executable is found by bringing up the Bitdefender interface and going to Help and Support > Contact Support.
If you are unable to upload the file here you can put it on www.sendspace.com and post the download link.
If you were already asked to generate this log, disregard the above message and just post your ticket ID.

I have been researching TCP port scan detected for over a year I now have version 16.31 which is past the 16.24 version you state. I attempted to file a report and upload the information, but the site will not take it. This interferes with daily activities and is a constant hindrance to any videos. I've noticed a lot of complaints on TCP port scan, but no one has reported a solution. I know port scan may not be a hack, but the firewall should not have 60 some events daily on this issue.
