  • Dear sonnyjimtwo,

That is very easy. First of all you had to purchase a 3 users license. Install it on all 3 pc's. On the first pc make a BitDefender account. On all other pc's or laptops you have only to enter the same license key and check the option that you already have a BitDefender account (my account) just enter the same details that you have used for creating the account. Hopefully it's clearer now.

Thanks for the info. it is a lot clearer to me now.

  • Dear sonnyjimtwo,

Ofcourse you can create different accounts but that isn't necessary. That is only for contacting support and for buying additional license, etc

Glad that I could help you.

  • Hello, everyone. I've been using computers since 1981, but I'm a newbie to BitDefender, and I have a related question. Specifically, I'm mildy confused about the DESKTOP USER LICENSE section of the EULA - "This license applies to Bit Defender software that can be installed on a single computer and which does not provide network services". Now, I have a three computer license, but does the afforementioned proviso apply to HOME networks as well? This would seem VERY strange to me, as nearly every home in the US has a router, but I don't want to break my contract on a technicality. So for, I'm very pleased with BitDefender. Very smooth, and not a resource hog.

    Many Thanks,

    JAMES

    Dear sonnyjimtwo,

Sorry that I was unclear. Yes you can. But it is handy to only have one account so that is easier to add new license otherwise you have to log on to each account if you want to extend your license period

    Dear Eoraptor1,

You may use BitDefender home products in home networks but not in business networks that is what is meant in the EULA.

Okay. I must have done something wrong. I have a three license version, and I've installed BitDefender on my main rig and one laptop. The laptop is receiving updates properly, but my main desktop is NOT, nor can I enable auto-update. My 'My Account' info says that I have purchased one key and am 'evaluating' another. What's happening here? I thought that I only had to check the option that I already had an account upon a second installation. What have I done wrong?

  • Hello James,

    Sorry for the late response.

Besides selecting that you already have an account, you also have to register all 3 products using the same license. If you selected Continue Evaluation, the products will not be registered.

So, on all 3 copies of BitDefender, do this:

    - type the exact same license code

    - select the option that you already have an account (and provide the details necessary for them).

If it doesn't work, please contact LiveAssistance, Customer Support.

  • Dear Eoraptor1,

Be sure that livesrv.exe is allowed in your firewall (if you are using a separate firewall). This is the case if you use BitDefender Antivirus 2008.

livesrv.exe can be found at this location: go to start,my computer, double click on the icon of your hard disc, program files, common files,BitDefender,BitDefender Update Service. You should allow tcp and udp connections. Are you sure that you have checked the option to enter the license key?

    Niels & Cris,

Thank you for answering. Don't worry about the delay; I couldn't have replied any sooner anyway. I had to partially dismantle my computer, and wasn't up to speed getting everything working again until last night. Customer Service is working on my issues right now. Something strange is going on.
