Bdfndisf6.sys - Blue Screen
From some time now I've been constantly getting the blue screen and the data I'm getting is that it seems to have a problem with bdfndisf6.sys. I already used the Support tool to gather some of the error files to my desktop so I would like to know what steps to follow.
Thank you very much.

Hello
You have at least 2 other security solutions installed near Bitdefender.
You will receive the names via PM.
Also, we recommend you to update the driver for the network adapter.
After you remove those security solutions and update the driver, please repair Bitdefender using these instructions:

Hi Sriram,
Thank you for posting the support tool logs. We will also need the latest minidump logs from C:\Windows\Minidump
Also please tell us when does the BSOD occur? When using a certain program? When connecting to the internet? When opening up the Bitdefender interface, etc.? Can it be associated with a specific action performed on your PC?
We'd be grateful if you would send us all this information so we can come with a solution.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter!0 -
Hi,
I have uploaded the minidump file in sendspace and the link is http://www.sendspace.com/file/le9tkb
The error occurs at random times when I am using my comptuer for my emails and word or excel... or browsing on the internet. Sometimes it occurs once in a while and sometimes it occurs every 5- 10 minutes. I do not think its associated with any one program and i have kept my bitdefender updated and still it occurs. The laptop is a HP envy which I upgraded to a windows 8 - 64 bit a few months ago - around the time windows 8 came out. I have been regularly updating my windows and the bitdefender. Hope this helps. Thanks for your support.

Hello Sriram,
Thank you for taking the time to submit the minidump.
Based on this, I can see that the BSOD is not caused by the Bitdefender firewall driver "bdfndisf6.sys".
There seems to be an issue with "iaStor.sys" here, the driver for Intel Rapid Storage Technology. Could you try updating it and see if that helps?
Also have you installed any new hardware recently? I would recommend running hardware diagnostics as provided by your manufacturer.
Please let me know how is everything going afterwards.0 -
Hi Georgia,
Thank you for taking the time to understand the problem and suggest something. My drivers are up to date and i have updated the iastor but still the problem persists. The last minidump files I sent you earlier were from january - i have uploaded the latest Mini Dump Files in the link below - Can you tell me if its still the Iastor.sys causing the problem? today i had the same blue screen with the same "bdfndisf6.sys error thrice in a few minutes and have put the mini dump files that were created after two of these occurences today - Can you take a look and suggest something? Hi Sriram,
Thank you for submitting the new logs.
You are right, the new dump files show the Bitdefender firewall driver "bdfndisf6.sys" as the culprit for the crash. I also notice that the product is not updated to latest build version and that you used an old kit for the original installation.
Because the fix for this issue has already been released a while ago, my recommendation is to reinstall Bitdefender by following closely the steps below:
1. To make sure that there won't be any other glitches with the new installation you will first need to remove any remaining files from the current version using this uninstall tool:
http://www.bitdefender.com/files/Knowledge...nstall_Tool.exe
- save the tool on the PC first
- right-click on it and from the menu choose 'Run as Administrator'
- click on 'Uninstall', then restart the computer when prompted (the removal process may take a few minutes).
NOTE: This process may take a few minutes to complete.
2. After restarting your Windows 8, download the latest installation kit for Bitdefender from here:
- save it on your PC then run it to begin the installation.
- at the end of the installation process click on 'Get Started' green button to configure the product
I am confident this will solve the crash for you but should you require further assistance please let me know.0
