Blocked Website

Options

I have been a long time user of Paltalk. Spend much of my life in the PC Tech room for the past 13 years. Paltalk offers an email message periodically to its users. Unfortunately, to view the full topic in the browser, Bitdefender Free block the site when it is a perfectly acceptable site to access. This has happened once before with another site and as I recall, a turning off of the Virus Shield or it might have been closing BD did the trick. However, not this time. There needs to be a method of bypassing this issue and hopefully this change can be made at the same time that the quarantine issue has been addressed which has been posted by myself and other users.

Had another site which is a clean site blocked. Browser used was Chrome. BD blocked the site. However, when using IE 10 to open the same site, NO issue at all. Is there somewhere to find a setting as to why BD is blocking when Chrome is used but not when IE 10 is used? Simplicity is great as long as one does not have to make adjustments but being able to adjust is what often is needed.

Hopefully an admin with BD will respond to this issue.

  • Hello,

Can you tell me what websites it's about?

    Thanks,

    Alex

this is a link from within an email from the Paltalk newsletter -- topic "Chatroom Etiquette"

    http://click1.mail.paltalkpeople.com/zmzsv...hcsfwqqbwq.html

same newsletter under the title button of "learn more"

I have forgotten the other link now. However, just checked the two in Chrome once more and still "blocked" and while the site that I can't recall the name of now would open in IE 10 but not in Chrome, the last site (did not check first) would not open today in IE 10 but was blocked by BD.

Tried to just turn of BD but no dice as the site is still blocked even with BD turned off in both Chrome and IE 10.

Either I am still doing something wrong or BD needs some method of creating a white list of safe sites or temporarily disengaging the url protection feature.

  • Have the same problem with the free version. With BIS you easely can pass this, pressing i knwow the risk or something. But with the free version there is nothing to do.

The page is http://www.vitoral.pt/ So we cannot acces our own site, with the free version? That can´t be.

I just ran into another site http://myimgur.eden.fm/ which came via a newsletter from

    http://www.ghacks.net/2013/04/06/myimgur-d...c0ao03z91%2ev9t

which I have subscribed to for sometime and I'm sure they would not put up a bad site.

I would think that BD wouild be liking to get more users of their software but with these issues, I'm getting closer to removing BD and moving over to Avast. In tests, both programs seem to be very close in ability of detect malware/viruses.

It is too bad as I rather like BD free for its simplicity. However, today a file was able to be downloaded to my PC that BD when using R click and scan found it to be a "nasty". Was surprised it got thru to that point. Unfortunately, I don't recall the name of the site and file as I decided it was not something I wanted to keep around.

I wish others would also comment so that the BD Free developers would either fix this plus the quarantine issue or state that there will not be a fix. Either way is ok but I'd like to know. I have stopped recommending BD in PC Tech for this reason as I don't want other users to have the same difficulties
