    Hi NastyNate,

Firstly please test to see if the issue persists with the latest build version 16.29.0.1830

(right click on Bitdefender icon from system tray-near the clock-and choose "About". You should see in the left side the build number).

In order for the product update to be installed, you need to reboot your machine (you should see in the Events -> "Reboot required" under the Update module).

If the Bluestock issue still persists with 16.29.0.1830, try to make the changes explained in these pinned topics:

Feel free to post back if there's anything else I can help you with. Thank you!

  • Is it also possible to ad the program in the whitelist? smile2.png

Also still blocked with Build 16.30.0.1843

Would be great if you could solve this ... or give a workaround if exists (temporary disable Bitdefender during install, etc.)

I'll second that, I just moved over from another competitor and if I had known this issue existed with Bitdefender I would not have done so

I am a self employed computer tech and I recommend this software for my customers, its a damm disgrace that a virus protection rules your own computer... I have followed the links in this thread and yet I still cannot get it to work...

The best thing to do at this point would be to contact Bitdefender support directly. You can set up an email ticket here:

I mean after all, this IS just a public forum...

This is not the first time I've ran into this issue with Bitdefender. Using the latest version of Total Security. It's blocking Cyberlink Powerdvd Ultra updates as well. Bluestacks will now detect if you are running Bitdefender and will refuse to install.

Bitdefender does not seem to permit installation of some apps even though you completely disable all options for antivirus and firewall.

The only work around is to completely remove Bitdefender and install the application.

Fixes to address these issues usually will not take affect until the next version release off the application (Bitdefender version 2013 -> 2014).

If you remove Bitdefender and install Bluestack, reinstalling Bitdefender will break Bluestacks.

  • Hello Glitch01,

This problem with Bluestacks has been hanging around for a while now and I thought it had been solved, from what you say maybe there is still a problem. It will be best dealt with if you send in either a support email - http://www.bitdefender.com/en/Main/contactEmail or a Sample/submit form - http://www.bitdefender.com/site/Main/autom...SampleUploader/ and hopefully Bitdefender can take another look at it.

    Hi,

Any news with this issue? I'm seriously thinking to completely remove BitDefender Total Security if I cannot use some of my usual applications.

It would be very easy for the support team to try and install Bluestacks on Windows 8.1 in order to replicate this issue.

    Thank you,

    Dan
