Registry Cleaner

I've tried running registry cleaner on my wifes laptop and it will not complete the process. After running the scan (registry) there are over 60,000 registries found and 50,000 errors found but the cleaner stops there (No Keys listed). I've tried running registry cleaner a couple times with the same results. Has anyone else had or have this problem? and how can I resolve this problem? I've had no problems with registry cleaner on my laptop and desktop.
