Bitdefender 2013 Is Slowing Everything Down

Since I used BitDefender 2013 Internet Security my download speed (using IDM to download) degrade overtime making it slower and slower until I restarted the system and resume download again. Another problem is my transfer speed between another PC in the same network is so slow I had to transfer a file using a thumbdrive. I need technical support to speed it up back to normal. Thanks
