Subscription Renewal: How To Renew A Subscription Using A Newly Purchased Product

Hello;


I currently have BitDefender Antivirus Plus 2013 installed on my computer, and my subscription is set to run out in a couple of weeks. I clicked on the “Buy Now” button that comes up on the "remaining days" display at the bottom of the BitDefender screen, and am taken to the BD home page where I see that a renewal for the same product will cost me $49 USD. This is a bit pricey in my view, especially since I can purchase a brand new retail version of the product for much less.


My question is this: I have just purchased a fully legal copy of the same product (from Amazon) for about half the price quoted on the BD website. How would I go about renewing my subscription without the need to uninstall and/or re-install my current version of BD? Can I simply enter the registration key of the newly purchased product on the BD home page?


Any detailed advice on how to proceed would be much appreciated.

    As with you, I at times find the better bargains in shopping around ;) As long as it is a full retail version, you are good to go by just entering the new 7 digit license key into the "Register your product using another license key" box: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=137087

    Thanks so much for your timely response and advice. I checked the links you suggested but there is an inconsistency between what is written in one of the posts and what I see when I open my BD window.

    It states: “Basically what you need to do is to enter the new license key in the product. Don't worry, you won't loose the days from the old license key.


    To register Bitdefender, follow these steps:


    Open the Bitdefender window.


    Click the License Info link at the bottom of the window. The registration window will appear.


    Enter the license key and click Register Now.”


    The problem is that when I open my BD window (I have BD Antivirus Plus 2013) I do not see anything related to “License Info”. The only things I see are the number of days left, a “Buy Now” option, and “Help and Support”. Any additional advice on how I would go about renewing my subscription with a new key would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Tonia...Try clicking on the 'number of days left'. This should take you to a registration screen. Sorry about the double post.

  • Yes it does! Thanks so much for your help in this. I will let you guys know if I have any problems renewing my subscription once I receive my new copy of BD and try to register it.
